Moroccan inspired tiles

I absolutely love the way Real Living magazine created this lovely scheme using the Moroccan Flower tile and creating a casual yet exotic look that compliments the feel of the tile. This moroccan inspired design is one of my favourites and can be used to jazz up any space needing some colour and life. With this design being so wow you don't need to do much more than just adding some simple furnishings and you could be sitting in a tea house in Marakesh or a beach resort in the south of Spain-that would be...

Buffalo Dining Club

The Buffalo Dining Club recently opened its doors and already has had many raving reviews. The relaxed bar/restaurant  located at 116 Surrey St, Darlinghurst has a comprehensive wine list and an excellent menu. The decor is simple and stylish with the feature being the facade of the bar where the designers wanted to create some contrast and bring some colour into the space.I love the montage of tiles used here, 4-5 designs that work so well together. It is definitely worth a visit for lunch or dinner a glass of wine and to try one of the specialities of the...

Inside Out-Kitchen and Bathroom Supplement

Thanks to Inside Out magazine for featuring the Retro Blue antique encaustic tile and the Red and White reproduction encaustic tile in this months Kitchen and Bathroom supplement. The tiles featured would look stunning in an area where colour is needed to liven things up! Red, being strong always comes in handy when you are looking to create some impact and some wow. The antique tiles featured have been salvaged from an old home in Spain and are in excellent condition-for an amazing effect, they could even be used in the same area as they actually compliment each other so well. The supplement is included in the March/April 2012 issue of Inside Out and is definitely worth having a look at  for some...

Cubic Elegance

I was recently passed on this image from a client who was looking for the perfect green for her own home renovation. Well,I think she found it. What a stunning green-green is one of those colours you need to get exactly right or it can be terribly wrong. Too bright is hard to live with and too dark becomes heavy . In this elegant space the green in my opinion is just right. The cubic encaustic tiles look stunning and the grey/black and white tones work so well against the green wall and the white wall in the background. The cubic tile design also harmonises so well with the mix of styles in this home. This design can be laid in 3 different ways to create 3 totally different patterns. Despite being tricky on the eyes it creates an interest and holds an elegance in its uniformity. Whether it is on a floor or wall this tile will always create the impact it...
