Black and White

The April issue of Womens Weekly which has just hit the shelves features a lovely home set in the hinterland of Byron Bay. James lives with his partner, journalist and photographer, Veda Dante who has brought her personality and warmth into the family home. James chose the Black and White circle encaustic tiles to feature as a splash back in his kitchen. The choice was perfect as they create a real definition in the open plan style of his home and draw your eyes as you walk through the door. Claire Larritt Evans Design refurbished the ESPL Coffee Brewers in Surfers Paradise. Claire only had a small space to work with and managed to create a funky little cafe with the cubic tile bringing it alive.I have attached some photos taken by photographer Sean Fenessey. Kerry Phelan Design Office have recently also used this design for the refurbishment of  Itali.Co in St Kilda. The cubic tiles have been used on table tops and as a border tile under the servery. Encaustic Tile Style

Terry and Liesl Harper from Terra Form Design in Brisbane have completed this beautiful bathroom incorporating the Black and Grey Reproduction encaustic tiles on the floor. The encaustic tiles they chose tie in perfectly with their vanity bench tops, the claw foot bath and the lovely federation window. I just love how you can totally change the look of your bathroom, kitchen, or whatever space your are working on just by the choice of tile you use. Encaustic tiles or cement tiles are so versatile in this way and can totally create the mood depending on pattern and colour chosen. As there is such a wide choice of colours, encaustic tiles are suited to any style of home.
