Now that things are opening up a little and we are able to, in many cases, move around more freely, get back out into our communities and frequent the places that we love so much we wanted to take you on a tile tour of some of our favourite Byron and Northern Rivers cafes, hotels and boutiques that are all home to beautiful Jatana tiles.

Coffee comes first, it’s a non-negotiable! Fortunately, we never have to walk far from the Jatana showroom as the incredible Moonshine coffee roasters are just a minute’s walk away in Federal Village! Here you will find not only amazing coffee but also our very stylish monochromatic tiles showcased on the coffee counter itself. Whilst we are on our favourite subject of coffee we must also mention Sparrow coffee in Byron and Bangalow. Visit and you will discover our happy aqua, blue and white tiles nestled happily in this one-stop coffee haven.

Further afield in the magic enclave of the Brunswick river you will find Brunswick heads or Bruns as its forever referred to. Visit footbridge cafe for a yummy snack and glimpse at some unforgettable Jatana tiles that suit this laid back, easy does it little village to a T!

If its something delicious to eat you are after then you are never short of options here in the Northern Rivers. Fresh cafe in Byron is a little of a must and its renovations a few years back have it looking ever so charming and filled with those relaxing byron vibes we all love so much! Our Cuban tiles are the perfect pairing to the bohemian, industrial aesthetic that you will find here along with some great food and the smell of fresh ocean air!

The Farm in Ewingsdale, just out of Byron itself is home to a few different styles of Jatana tiles, it’s a favourite place to run around in the sunshine, have a meal or eat a custard tart and drink a glass of wine! The Three blue ducks restaurant is home to some of our beloved antique encaustic tiles that sit at perfect eye level on the back of their bar, the ideal tile match for this modern rustic building! Down in the old dairy bales at the farm, you will find Baylato a local ice cream company that appropriately chose our very sweet and sure to make you smile pink mandala tiles to adorn their charming space.

Byron and its surrounds are a bit of a retail wonder world, with so many little boutiques filled to the brim with covetable treasures you really could wander around all day just dreaming and imagining! Our encaustic tiles are fortunate enough to grace the interiors and exteriors of more than a few of these wonderful stores including Spell, Arnhem, and Bailey Nelson. For the surf lovers, we’ve also got you covered… you can head to Mctavish surf in the industrial estate and not only cast your eyes upon your dream quiver but also on our classic Blue tango tiles.

You can’t leave the Northern rivers without strolling through the door of the Jai Vasicek gallery. Gorgeous Jai and his breathtaking, captivating and colourful artwork are often to be found at the gallery. An inspiring place to spend a moment and take it all in… our tiles included!! One of our very favourite places filled with good energy, great artwork, and exquisite style.

Last but not least our home away from home (we wish) The Atlantic. We’ve blogged about this amazing guest house before (you can read it here) but we feel we couldn’t pay homage to our little town without a mention of this most beautiful lifestyle hotel. The Atlantic with its ever-evolving aesthetic and timeless attention to detail is home to several styles of Jatana tiles and we are always more than happy to pay them a visit!!

We couldn’t take you on a Byron Tile tour without inviting you all to pop in and visit us at the Jatana showroom! Our paradise filled to the brim with colour and pattern and bursting at the seams with endless possibilities. There is nothing quite as captivating as handling our vintage tiles for yourself, of feeling the stories within them and of the excitement and prospect of a new project that just may become. We look forwards to seeing you soon!
